Ferdiox aims to publish accurate, useful and independent journalism. This policy explains the standards we apply to news, explainers, analysis, press-release material and contributed content.
Accuracy and verification
We try to verify material before publication, using primary documents, direct sources, reputable reporting, subject-matter expertise and other appropriate evidence. The level of checking depends on the nature, urgency and potential impact of the story. Headlines, captions, summaries and social copy should fairly reflect the underlying article.
Facts may change and sources may be incomplete. We do not promise that every item will be error-free or permanently current. Where a meaningful error can be verified, we will consider a correction or clarification under our Corrections Policy.
Fairness and context
We aim to give readers enough context to understand a story and to distinguish established fact from allegation, opinion, estimate or uncertainty. Where serious criticism concerns an identifiable person or organisation, we will consider whether a fair opportunity to comment is appropriate and practical before publication. Public-interest urgency, documentary evidence and the availability of the subject may affect that decision.
Sources
We favour named and on-the-record sources. Anonymous or confidential sources may be used when their information is important, there is a reasonable reason to protect them and the material can be assessed responsibly. We do not disclose confidential sources unless required by law or the source agrees.
Public interest
Editorial decisions may consider public safety, accountability, the use of public money, scientific or cultural importance, consumer understanding and the exposure of misleading conduct. Public interest does not mean whatever interests the public; it means information with a credible wider value.
Artificial intelligence and automation
Digital tools may assist with research, transcription, organisation, editing, search optimisation or production. They do not remove our responsibility to check claims, attribute sources and apply editorial judgement. We do not knowingly present invented quotations, fabricated evidence or unverified machine output as fact.
Conflicts and conduct
Contributors should disclose material interests that could affect their work. We seek to avoid plagiarism, deceptive editing, undisclosed advertorial and unnecessary intrusion. We use only material we have a lawful basis to publish, including licensed, commissioned, public-domain or appropriately quoted material.
